Our Weekend
We had such a great weekend with all of our family in town! My brother Chris and his fiance Caiti got married this weekend, so every one came in to see them and spend the weekend with us! And my mom got to come back for the weekend, also! Marley was so excited to see her, read Mrs. Tittlemouse, and snuggle in bed with her.
We got pedicures (also known as "pigit-hairs") and manicures!
And Marley got to be entertained by family members and friends that she rarely gets to see. She would walk around to everyone asking if they would play with her or read her a book. I am so happy that she has come out of her shell a little more and can adjust quickly to new people. And I love watching her get to spend time with people that I love so much!
On Friday night, my mom and Joel hosted the rehearsal dinner here at the house. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to, but after weeks of preparing it was so nice to see it all in action. The backyard looked beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was awesome!

I can't even explain how much I love spending time with my family like this. We hosted the rehearsal dinner, had everyone over during the day on Saturday, and then again for breakfast Sunday. It means so much to me to have everyone in the house together! The next party is going to be the weekend that the baby is due, which is also the weekend of my Mimi's birthday! So, I can't wait for that for several reasons!

Speaking of turtles...
We found a turtle in the backyard today! Henry was barking at a plant, and then turning around to look at us like he really needed us to come see what was going on! So, Joel went over, thinking he was going to find a snake, but instead he found a cute little turtle!
Surprisingly, Marley was actually okay with the idea of holding him, and we named him Franklin. Henry just wanted to keep barking at him, trying to convince him to come out and play!

I told her that her Daddy would be so excited to find out she had held a turtle. I also told her all about the box turtle and Greg the Turtle, both turtles that we had before she was born. Maybe our Franklin will live in the backyard for a while and we can keep checking on him. She would love that job!

"Do you want to play with me?"
"Do you want to play with me?"
I literally hear this 50 times a day. She asks me, her Papa, her Mimi, her Dede, and every other single person that comes in the house. Family and friends? Salesman at the door? Delivery guys? She asks them all. I try to run interference with the strangers so that they don't have to awkwardly try to find a response for why they can't, but sometimes I don't make it in time.
Her favorite games to play are Candy Land and Memory, but she also loves playing with her blocks, flashcards, learning games, kitchen, and her easel. She still isn't very good at occupying herself in her playroom, she never has been. But I try to encourage it! And hopefully one day soon she will asking her brother or sister, "Do you want to play with me?"

A Surprise from Daddy!
Marley is in love with Franklin the turtle. That is her new favorite show to watch, which is one of the only shows I let her watch currently. I told Asa about her new love for Franklin, and he got online and ordered her a lot of 28 Franklin books! That is a lot of Franklin!
So, he told me that he wanted me to make her a scavenger hunt, and have the books be the prize at the end! I got it all done tonight and unfortunately I only have pictures of before and after since I was recording the actual hunting. But she loved it! She loved the hunt and the puzzles and especially the books! There are 28, so we will have to spread out the reading over a few days! But she was so happy to know that he Daddy got them for her and told me he was the "best Daddy ever!"
And he is, isn't he?!
