We woke up pretty early on our last day and spent the next hour or so cleaning everything up. We were both really sad to leave the beautiful cabin, but at the same time we were ready to go home. It's so funny how that happens with vacations.
We had a lot to clean and wash before we could say we were ready to go. Luckily we woke up early enough to get it all done and be in the car by 8:30 in the morning! It was sad to drive away from our little getaway, but we swore to come back and left a wonderful review in the guest book.
Asa wanted to stop and find one last geocache on our way out of town. The problem was it was in a cemetery. Most people don't visit cemeteries at 8:30 in the morning, so I was scared to begin with. Then, we started walking back to the coordinates where the geocache should have been and we realized the people who worked there were digging up dirt for a funeral later that day. So, we turned around and went back to the car without the cache.
Right about now, much to our luck, Marley fell asleep. That made the trip so much more enjoyable. I hoped that she would sleep the entire way back, as she did on the way there, but she did not. She woke up about an hour into the trip. We stopped at a McDonald's for breakfast and then hit the road again. For the rest of the two hours home, Marley didn't whine once! She played happily in the back seat and sang along with us in a great mood. That definitely ended the trip on a good note.
I enjoyed our honeymoon so much. It was great to have that time to ourselves before Asa left and we felt so lucky to be there, just the three of us. It wasn't about where we went or what we did, it was about being together as a family.
