Today, Marley blew out four candles on her birthday cookie. And right before she did, she made her wish.
"I wish I could stay mama's little baby forever."
My heart sank and I haven't quite been able to recover yet.
Marley, you will forever be my sweet baby. You made me a mama. You made me who I am today and I love you every single day, always. Nothing you could do or say would change that. Please, stay my little baby forever. Because the alternative seems excruciating.
