Tidbits of life in our house this week.
{Kombucha Tea} Asa is starting a new hobby of brewing our own Kombucha tea. This is only day two, but things are already starting to happen.
{Post Cards} My mom is in the western United States on a field trip for six weeks. We miss her so. But she is sending post cards along the way and Marley carries them around with her for hours a day. She puts on her new caving hat that my mom brought her as a fantastic souvenir and stares at the picture. She asks me if she can go caving one day, because she says she really wants to learn about caves.
10 points if you can find Vivi hiding in this picture! Let me know in the comments! |
{New Perspectives} There is something so refreshing and exciting about rearranging a room. In high school, I remember doing it all the time because I loved the feeling of waking up to a new view in the morning. Marley and I worked on her room on Monday We rearranged, did a good cleaning, and organized enough to even get rid of a piece of furniture! And she has told me at least five times how happy she is with her new set-up.
{A Good Book} I am addicted to this book. I wish I had more free time to read it. But I have been able to read a few pages at a time and I love it. It makes me feel uplifted and happy about life. I pass it on the table throughout the day and it reminds me to smile and kiss my babies and that nothing matters more than my family. And I love that feeling. I'm telling you, go get this book!
{Baking Bread} I have been talking about make bread for months. I asked for a bread maker for Christmas six months ago. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't get one though. (Instead, I got a sewing machine that is waiting for me to have time to use it! I will one day soon!) Because I am figuring out how to make some awesome bread without it. I keep reminding myself that this is a learning process and I shouldn't give up just because I don't like one loaf. There are plenty more recipes to try!
{Letter Sounds} Marley's new favorite activity. We get to practice the sounds letters make and writing them. She is doing so amazing.
{DIY} Asa and I are really getting into making things ourselves and the more natural way. So, one of the experiments we have going right now it a natural cleaner for anything around the house. All you do is take 6-8 orange peels, put them in a jar, and cover them with vinegar. Wait 10 days and then strain out the orange peels and you have a liquid cleaner to use all over your house! Next on the list to make at home: kefir and creme fraiche!
