The Tyler Zoo

Today, I am posting some pictures of the trip that my mom, Marley, and I took to the zoo over spring break. It was almost a month ago now, but better late than never! My mom made Marley her first snack bag with her name on it, and Marley loved it! She was so proud and wanted to be the one holding it the whole time.
It was spring break, so there were tons of other people there to enjoy the warm weather and see the animals. We had to wait in line for what felt like 30 minutes, which made my baby a little tired!
But she perked right up when we finally got inside and she got to explore! Marley is at that age where I never know whether or not to bring her stroller. On our last weekend with Asa, we went to the zoo in Springfield and chose not to bring the stroller. She was exhausted towards the end and we were wishing we had brought it. But this time, she did really well without it. Although, it is always nice to have to stroller to put our stuff in also!
Marley wanted to take very frequent snack breaks! And who wouldn't with things like Goldfish and Teddy Grahams to snack on?!
She really loved the animals. Asa and I always go to the zoo in any new cities we visit. It's just our thing, and Marley has the shirts to prove it! But this was the first time that she was actually interested in what the animals were doing and why. Instead of just pointing out what kind of animal it was, and then wanting to move on, she asked what they were doing.

So, she constantly talks about giraffes now and how they really long necks so that they can reach their food in the trees! I love that she can connect things like that. It's amazing to watch her learn!
She really wanted to see some lions, but they just would get close enough for her to really see. But she tried to make a telescope with her hands to them!
This penguin loved the kids by the window. While all the other penguins were sitting on the rocks lazily, this penguin was swimming and flipping for the kids! Marley was fascinated!
The entire way to the zoo, Marley was pointing out Redbud trees for us. So, when we saw a beautiful one at the zoo, we had to get her picture under it! This is the only picture of the day that she actually wanted to cooperate for!And this is Marley making the sound that a lion makes. That's a very intense lion!
We had a great time at the zoo, and it was nice to get Mimi to the zoo! She hasn't been to a zoo in years! I felt like an old pro! The next zoo we plan to visit will be in September when Daddy gets here!
