The last day that Emily was here, we decided to take Marley to the water park, and then drive to the Cave Restaurant we have been wanting to try. So, first was the water park:She had a blast and this trip managed to not end in any scraped knees. We ran home and changed really quickly and then headed to The Cave, about 30 miles away. Asa and I have been wanting to try this out, and there are signs all over the place advertising for it. So, we expected to be taking Emily out for a "nice dinner" on her last night. So, we wait in the parking section for our "shuttle" to the restaurant. Along comes a raggedy old mini-van with a broken window to pick us up. So, we strap ourselves into that and ride along the pot-hole filled road up to the cave while the driver talks on the phone and enters new numbers in.
The idea of the restaurant being in a cave is really cool, but they need to work with the cave, not against it. Caves are naturally wet places, so the carpet they installed is obviously going to be gross. It smelled like mildew and urine. The tablecloths were disgusting and there was a dirty fork in my seat.
The food was far from good, and waitress was terrible. Marley didn't even want to eat the garlic bread.
We spent way more than we wanted to on a meal that was completely gross. I'm sorry, Emily,
that you spent your final evening there! It is now Asa's favorite joke. "Be nice or I'm making you eat at The Cave!"
