Saturday was a big day! First we woke up and went to work out, and then we hurried to Grandma's house because Bonnie and Malachi had come into town! Lewis was grilled ribs for us, so we all had a picnic outside on the porch and enjoyed some sun.Lewis turned on the sprinklers and we let the three kids run around in them. I didn't have a swim suit for Marley, so she just went in a t-shirt and her diaper. She was really nervous about them, and definitely wasn't as into it as the boys were. She really is just an observer. She would have been perfectly happy to just watch the boys play in the sprinklers and not worry about going in herself. But I guess we all really wanted her to so we convinced her to.
She remembered picking blackberries with Grandma, so she wanted to do it again! She got a few and then I showed her how to rinse them off in the sprinkler. And of course she loved them!Marley was exhausted by the time we left, so luckily I got her to take a nap when we got home. We were hosting our friend Amanda's graduation party, and having a huge crawfish boil! Marley thought the crawfish were... interesting! We actually got her to hold one, which really surprised me! She didn't eat any of it, but neither did I so I don't blame her.She and I spent most of our time in the backyard kicking a ball around.
And checking out the leaves.
She has caught on to my trick of Emily bouncing the ball off her head and me trying to get pictures of her smiling. So, she knows I want to take her picture and looks right at me with her mouth wide open! She doesn't even laugh anymore, she just opens her mouth and poses like she is! Can you believe that?! Sometimes I can get a real smile, though. Her big day ended and she was exhausted! She almost fell asleep on my shoulder as I walked around the garden, so I put her to sleep. She was very thankful!
