Well, the past few days have been extremely busy. Friday morning was my last post, and since then we have been going nonstop. Friday afternoon, we found out that the house was ready for us. They had cleaned the house and shampooed the carpets. So, we went over and checked on it, and found out that the AC was not working. We called the landlord who had already called the AC guy, but no one had come yet. We called about five AC companies before someone finally had time to come. He came and fixed whatever needed to be done, so we could start. My mom volunteered to watch Marley for a while, so I dropped her off with Joel and went to help pack and move. Asa got a few loads done with the help of our neighbor, David. They mainly just moved boxes that were ready to go and then we got everything ready for the big move Saturday morning. When I went to pick up Marley, I found out that my mom had been asleep the whole afternoon, not feeling well. So, we went home, put Marley to sleep and packed. I was so so excited. Even thought the house was not perfect yet, I couldn't wait to get out of our apartment. The excitement was just killing me! We ate a final dinner in our apartment and went to bed. I could barely sleep.
Early Saturday morning, Marley woke us up in a fantastic mood. She must have known what was going to happen. We got a hold of Asa's dad who was coming with his trailer to help us move and started getting things ready. At 7:30 am, Joel called. He said that they had brought my mom to the hospital that morning because she was still not feeling well. They were running tests, thinking it was either her gallbladder or appendix. He said not to worry and go about my day and he would keep me updated with any changes. So, we moved. We took load after load, while I helped with what I could. Around noon, Emily volunteered to keep Marley so I could actually help with the moving. Here is a picture from our new living room! It is about two and a half times the size of our old one!
So, it turned out that my mom had to have her appendix removed. She had only been in pain for about 24 hours, but they caught it only a few hours before it ruptured. Worrying about her added to the stress of the day, but luckily it was soon over. we moved as much as we could on Saturday and then did little projects at the new house. Asa has since installed new lights in the kitchen and done a ton of other odd projects.
Marley is loving the space she has. We have two bathrooms and three bedroom and a huge living area. She has so much more room to move around and explore and learn. She really is so much happier here. She has also been sleeping much better here. It could be that we are all more relaxed, or it could be that she is farther away from all the noise of the house. But I am excited that she is content.
So,we have been puttering around the house doing little projects and making things the way we like them. Tonight we bought a washer and dryer from Lowe's, so i can finally do laundry! we just got our internet on today, and so I can finally update on everything that Marley has been doing. I guess I will do that tomorrow. I also found out that we get all the channels we could ever want to watch! I don't know if they screwed up or what, but we have over 70 channels!
