Messy Missy

On Monday, I gave Marley her first taste of sweet potatoes. I tried to upload the video of her trying it for the first time, but blogger didn't want you guys to see it or something. It wouldn't let me finish it. Anyway, she liked it okay. She wasn't really crazy about it though.

Today, I let Marley go crazy with the sweet potatoes. I did have to give her a little bath afterward, but it was a lot of fun to watch her explore! She tried to get it into her mouth, but most of the time it was not successful. It usually ended up in her lap, or in her hair, or on my arms, or in my hair, or in Kima's mouth. Pretty much everywhere but Marley's mouth. But that's okay... she's learning so fast! Pretty soon she will be shoving Cherrios in her mouth without a problem.

Family Trip to the Park

Yesterday, after work, we went to the park and walked around while Asa played frisbee golf. It was a little on the chilly side, but we had fun.
This is totally the look of "Am I gonna get in trouble for this?" She's sticking leaves in her mouth.
I can't wait until it is warmer and Marley is waddling around th epark with us! That is going to be so much fun! I know Asa's excited to show her off while he plays frisbee golf. She'll be the cutest kid at the park!

Marley Telling a Story

Marley has lots of things to say tonight. You can even hear a little "bahbahbah" in there somewhere! She will copy me now when I am saying "bah bah". Sometimes she makes the noise, but sometimes it's just mouth movements. It's still cute though!

Jerk

I have been extremely busy for the past couple of days. Between the stress of school and the stress of the Bachelor, (oh man, do I hate him now...) I have had no time for my little blog. So, here's what I've done.

Sunday, we went to visit Asa's mom at her house and then we went out to lunch with Donna, Emily, Bonnie, Lewis, and Malachi. It was a little stressful to say the least. I did not plan well and Marley was hungry the second we got there. Then, I had to worry about everything going on at the table and trying to keep Marley from knocking over glass. And to top it all off, my meal was gross. I'm never going back to Clear Springs.

Monday morning was the day that we had to sign Marley up for the Lab for next year. I really don't want to need it, but we signed her up anyway to be safe. They take the applications on a first come, first served basis, so waking up late wasn't very good. But I made Asa go up there in the freezing cold and wait in line. He was the only dad there that early! And it worked because we were the first people in line for the toddler class. But, of course, the children of full-time SFA employees and the children with siblings already at the school come first. So, who knows. I am just stressed about the future and I wish I knew how it was going to be. I need a crystal ball. I can't stand not knowing.

Then, Marley was just a fuss-butt all evening yesterday. She must have known that the Bachelor was going to be a big jerk and she was upset about it. But I finally got her in bed just in time to watch Jason dump Melissa and make out with Molly within 15 minutes.

Today has been stressful too. I have all these reports that I have to do for work at the beginning of the month and a big project. Luckily all of that is done now and I can relax for a couple of days. I will sure to take some pictures of Marley... I'm sure she missed that!

Babbling

Marley started babbling yesterday! My mom and I went to lunch and Marley was sitting in her car seat. First, she just opened and closed her mouth a few times and then she started saying "bahbahbahbahbahbahbah" for a while. It was so cute because every time she did it she would start out not making any noise, but moving her mouth. It was like she was trying to figure it out again. Then she would talk for a while. Asa and I went to Wal-Mart later and Asa was trying to talk on the phone, but he couldn't hear anything because of all the babbling going on in the back seat! It was so cute!

This morning Marley woke us up saying "dadadadadada!" Asa totally got excited and perked up immediately. (It normally takes like 20 minutes to get him that awake.) How did she learn so fast?! I'm going to keep working on "mama," but it looks like Asa is going to win this one.

Avocado!

I totally forgot to write about Marley's avocado tasting experience on Friday. She loved it! They don't really have a lot of taste, so I was worried she wouldn't really be interested. But she was and she kept squirming for more. I was at work when we gave it to her, so I just had Asa come up there with the video camera. So, I don't have any pictures of it, just video.

Yesterday, she ate a ton! I probably gave her too much, but she kept asking for it. She ended up spitting/throwing up some of it and felt pretty bad. But she's okay and I learned my lesson not to give her that much just because she wants it.

They have a recipe on the baby food website for "Bananacado" which is obviously banana and avocado mixed together. I was talking to my mom about it and we both agree that it sounds pretty nasty. But Marley may like it! She likes them separately!

Next is sweet potatoes!
