Fourth of July

We had an awesome 4th of July today! Marley got a new sprinkler toy for the backyard that she loved. We ran around in it for a while and then put our lawn chairs right in the water and enjoyed the sun.A little while later, my mom and sister took Marley to the freedom festival downtown. It was a little too hot for me to walk around outside for a long time, but Marley is lucky that her Mimi and Dede were happy to take her! She got to bounce in a bounce house, took two train rides, went in a petting zoo (didn't pet anything though, which doesn't surprise me!), and according to Marley she made some friends. I'm so happy she had a great time, and she came home with a red sweaty face so I know she will sleep well tonight!

We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner, ate cold watermelon, and Emily V. and I made a delicious fruit pizza! This is definitely one of my new favorite desserts!I definitely missed Asa today. He loves this holiday also and there were so many things that reminded me of him. Emily S., Emily V., and I went to watch the fireworks while my mom took care of Marley. It was sad to watch the fireworks without Asa, because fireworks are something he loves! But we are going to have a blast next July 4th, with our two adorable children!
