One of Marley's favorite games is telling people she has a surprise for them. Her face lights up, and she gets so excited to see your reaction. She says, "I have a pwize for you!" while she hides it in her hands or behind her back. Usually it's a flower from the garden or a random toy she has found. But today's "pwize" was very different.
She came in from the garden where she had been helping Papa, with one hand on top of the other holding something. I excitedly bent down to see my surprise, and with the biggest smile she proudly opened her hands to reveal...

A WORM! She wasn't even grossed out! Earlier today her feet got muddy in the rain and she cried until Grandma could clean them off. But a worm is totally not a big deal! She did drop it on the floor a few times to "watch it do this (wiggling her hand back and forth)" but the little worm survived. I love seeing Marley so proud of herself and excited to be trying something new!
Asa, just know that I told her you would be very proud of her for carrying that thing around! And that you would be excited to take her fishing when you got back!
