When I was walking around Dollar Tree last week with Asa's mom, I spotted this book.I thumbed through it and thought some of the activities sounded like they would be fun to do with Marley. And for only $1, I just went ahead and bought it, along with the Preschooler version.
This afternoon Marley and I did our first activity from the book, and we had a blast! I thought it might be fun to share them with you all! And any other mothers who need some little ideas of learning games or rainy day activities, there will be a little link on the right hand side of the blog where you can find them all!
For this activity, all you need to do is draw different shapes on index cards (or pieces of paper). Draw three of them the same and one different. You can use different shapes, numbers, animals, colors, whatever you can draw! As you can see, my drawing skills are rather limited...
After they were all done, I sat down with Marley and asked her which one's were different from each card. It took a few tries for her to catch on to what we were trying to do. She would tell me what the different colors or shapes were (which are still good things to practice!), so I had to keep reminding her how to find the different one. But she got the hang of it, and kept asking for more and more!
This took barely any time to make, and Marley even had fun helping me make them. She helped me pick the colors I used and counted markers while I made them. So, I will throw them in a baggie and maybe make a few new ones next time!
Hope you enjoy and look forward to our next activity!
