On Friday evening, we decided to take a trip to a creek nearby so that Asa could collect some gravel for the fish tank and Marley could play in the creek. I had forgotten about the water playground that they have at that park, but I was so glad Marley was in her swim suit so that she could play in it! There were a few kids playing in the water, so Marley was a little nervous at first. But she firgured out how much fun it was and ended up having a blast! We did walk across to the creek, but Marley was not interested one bit. She cried as we walked away from the water park! So, we hurried back!
So, I decided that I would be a good mommy and get wet with her. Asa and I had managed to stay dry, but I thought it would be fun to get in. So, I decided to run through with her.
One second after this picture was taken, Marley fell. I did not notice she had fallen somehow and ended up skinning one of her knees pretty bad. I felt so so terrible. I was only trying to have fun with her and she was in tears! I tries to distract her with more playing, but it did not work.
She ended up crying the entire way home (even when we stopped for ice cream), all through her bath, and while I was putting her to sleep. I put a band-aid on and tried to take her mind off of it, but nothing worked until she fell asleep.
The next morning, Asa took her pajama pants off to change her diaper, she spotted the band-aid and started screaming all over again! So, after a day of putting off changing her diaper and then listening to her scream for 30 afterward, we thought that maybe we could go back to the water park and try again. Asa and I went in our swim suits this time, prepared to play. Unfortunately, about 5 minutes in a little girl plowed over Marley, knocking her to the ground and skinning her other knee! Repeat of crying, ice cream, crying all night, and hating diaper changes.
This poor girl was some banged up legs! But at least she had fun before it all happened. She will be wearing pants for the next week or so unfortunately. Because we are still dealing with the drama every time she can see her boo-boo!
