Marley is into organizing lately.
We went shoe shopping before the wedding, and she spent fifteen minutes moving the boxes around. She would pull the boxes off the shelves, switch the shoes out with other shoes, push them to different sides of the shelf, and put all the lids on them. I'm sure the Payless ladies loved that I was just videotaping her instead of stopping her!
When we fed her bowties the other day, instead of eating them she was very concerned about sorting them. She would put them all in the bowl and then pull them all out. She would put them on one side of the bowl and then move them to the other. She would eat one every once in a while, but organizing them was way more fun!
After Asa and Joel were done putting up the Christmas lights for the wedding, Marley was obsessed with their boxes. She built all sorts of towers and piles, getting them jsut the way she wanted.
At dinner a few weeks ago, I gave her a handful of cheese from my plate. She did not feel good about the fact the cheddar and Monterrey jack cheese were mixed, so she split them up. She put all the yellow cheese to one side and the white cheese to the other side. And then she only ate the cheddar.
It's so cute to me, to see her being so deliberate about what she wants and how she wants it. It just shows me how much she is really thinking about and how smart she is getting. Instead of just doing random things, she actually knows what she's doing!
