My mom had a Crawfish Boil at her house tonight for all the cool people in the Geology Department. We really had a good time! The boys hung out with the crawfish and talked about boy stuff, and the girls oohed and ahhed about Marley. Taylor and Brandon brought their dog, Pilsner, who was really interested in everyone with food, including Marley. Marley and I sat on a blanket in the grass eating Cheerios and Pilsner thought that was fascinating. He came over and ate the Cheerios that Marley threw away and licked her ears for her. They were pretty slobbery kisses, but he was super sweet with her. She thought he was pretty entertaining. I mean, he's a basset hound! Look at all that extra skin he has to pull on!
She has gotten pretty good with the Cheerios. She can get about half of the ones she picks up into her mouth. I also let her chew on an apple slice, which she loved. Taylor held her for a while and Marley played with bracelets and chewed on a carrot, which she didn't really love. And something really cute happened while we were blasting oldies on the stereo: she waved her arms like she was dancing! She did it a few different times, just swinging her arms up and down and smiling. She showed Mimi and Papa her crawling skills and tried to ride Pilsner. But all the action wore her out and she is now passed out in the bed, dreaming of puppies.
