It's A....

...we don't really know, actually. Asa and I decided to wait until the birth to find out if it's a boy or a girl. People have told me both though, so there is no telling! I am 32 and a half weeks today and I feel pretty good. I have been swimming as much as I can for exercise and to help with my ankles swelling. My tennis shoes don't fit, so swimming is pretty much my only choice.

The doctor says that I might have gestational diabetes, so I have been going to the doctor every week to check my blood sugar levels. So far I have been passing, but barely passing. I am measuring correctly right now, but the chances of getting it increase as you get further along. So, I have an appointment on July 26th for an ultrasound to find out the size and status of the baby. If the baby is too big, I have an appointment on July 29th with the doctor to talk about my options. So, the baby may be coming sooner that we planned!

The baby moves a lot. He or she gets the hiccups at least once a day, which is really fun to feel. I can actually see legs or arms moving across my belly now. My mom and Asa have felt the baby move a few times and got really excited!

I had my first baby shower yesterday! I had a great time and I really enjoyed seeing everyone! Sue Mary, Lulu, Alyx, and Denise hosted it at my mom's house and they made everything look wonderful! All the non-pregnant people got to drink mimosas with orange juice and raspberry ice cubes. The decorations were wonderful and the cake had a picture of a cute little pregnant lady with her belly poking out from under her shirt! Sue Mary even made a diaper cake! I felt so special! I hope people can send me pictures because I really want to have some. I also got so many exciting gifts. I went home last night and put everything together and in its place! I got a changing table and dresser, changing pad and covers, crib sheets, a swing, a bouncer, two play mats, burp cloths, onesies, a medicine kit, tons of diapers, and a bunch of books that my mother used to read to us when we were younger. I sat down that afternoon to read them and starting crying through every one. It was just a wonderful time and I am so happy for everyone that came!

Oh, I have been on the homepage of maternitygallery.com for almost a month now! Check it out!
